About Me

A brief profile

Erik Westerman began his career as a multimedia designer on working on award winning teams and eventually moved into television working for the Discovery Channel. As part of the Marketing Team, he launched new channels into Europe and Africa assisting in target marketing on promotional campaigns.

Erik then worked for a Belgian online software company as a Product Marketing Manager and consultant on Intranet Software. His understanding of technological process combined with his design skills gave him an opportunity to design and conceive process flow charts for database systems for the British Airport Authority. He progressed down a path of conceptual business operations workflows as well as branding and re-launching medical products at a Pharmaceutical Company based in the United Kingdom. He attended the Open University MBA program, earning a Post Graduate Certificate in Technology Management. Concurrently, he embarked on a project using his design skills to publish his first patent.

Consistently interested in overseas business, Erik was employed as the first Overseas Business Consultant for a leading British Mergers & Acquisitions firm generating business from overseas countries to acquire companies in the UK. He then began working in European public administration, working for the Executive Agency for Competitiveness and Innovation, an agency of the European Commission. He worked as a Project Officer for the Enterprise Europe Network in two different roles, auditing European funded consortiums for Belgium, France, & Israel, and also an Intellectual Property Officer managing training programmes as part of the Europe 2020 Initiative proposed by the European Commission.
